Hope Hospital Chakwal is vision of our Chairman Haji Taleh Mehdi, he is dedicating all financial resources to accomplishing this vision. He has utmost determination to see this project through to completion. The land for the project has been paid for by him alone, and he is continues to support this project through personal efforts both in time and financially. Hope Hospital Chakwal project is taking shape in small phases. Our philosophy is to have small healthcare units functioning as soon as economically feasible. Though, long term goal is to build a healthcare complex, in the shape of Hope Hospital, to encompass and cater complete healthcare facilities for every underprivileged citizen of the district. Our efforts, with support of people from all over UK, is slowly bring results, to date two healthcare units functioning successfully, and have served countless poor people free of charge peoples. Revenues cost for both clinic are wholly supported by Trust’s two Charity Shops in Nottingham. Capital founds are required for further construction and medical equipments, to date £90K has been spent on construction. It is estimated that another £100K is still required to complete the construction. Considerable amounts of Medical equipment has been sent to Pakistan, which includes over 100 beds, 2 operating tables, two X-Ray Rooms, Haig Streit Slit lamp, Lasag-Topaz Yag Laser, Cannon Flourescein Camera, 3 Storz Premiere Phaco Machine denoted by various NHS Hospitals, and numerous other items. We are confident that Hope Hospital will become fully functional as soon as construction is completed. Currently, two clinics are fully functioning at Hope Hospital, around 30 to 40 poor people daily visit these clinics. These clinics are supported by two qualified medical physicians – a general practitioner and an Eye specialist, one mid-wife – to provide family planning counseling and maternity services, one pharmacist to operate dispensary. Since hospital, currently does not have secondary and tertiary facilities; such case are referred to either Rawalpindi or Islamabad with due financial support. Recently, funded kidney operation of 16 year old boy, only child of poor family, without it, he would have certainly died, as his parent could not afford the treatment. It is comprehendible that many such cases found on daily basis in poor countries, for us this is the motivating force that’s driving our effort to continue, and relief every little pain where possible. Similarly, our cataract removal operations for patient examined at the Eye Clinic, are again carried out at another hospital, since our own operating facilities not ready - we have all the necessary medical equipment, including Phaco Machine use in cataract removal operations as well as medical physicians to carryout surgeries
