Umeed (Hope) Hospital held a Free Medical and Eye Camp on 28th Jan 2023
Over 650 patients were screened and treated, free medicine, medical tests, free glasses, and a number of cataract removal operations were identified, and free referral arrangements were made. We plan to hold similar camps on monthly basis allowing poor patients to receive free healthcare facilities.

The Cause
Blindness affects over 45 million people globally with a further 124 million who experience significant sight loss.
90% of these people live in low income countries
80% of their blindness is treatable or preventable.
Sight loss is not purely a health issue:
- it devastates lives, as it directly affects an individual's ability to access employment, causes social isolation, family breakdown and is a significant factor in worsening poverty.
