Al-Ain Internaltion Welfare held a Health Mela 31st March 2019 at Hope Hospital, Murid, District Chakwal. It is fully financed by our Trustee Iftikhar Mehdi and Muhammad Rafaqat from UK. Cheif Guest Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser, who has been supporting our Hope Hospital project since 2006. During his speech further requested the local MNAs and MPA also to support this project.
Highlight of Health Mela
• 1040 Patients Screened • 89 provided with reading glasses • 18 Cataract surgery • 770 patients provide health checks and medicines
The Cause
Blindness affects over 45 million people globally with a further 124 million who experience significant sight loss.
90% of these people live in low income countries
80% of their blindness is treatable or preventable.
Sight loss is not purely a health issue:
- it devastates lives, as it directly affects an individual's ability to access employment, causes social isolation, family breakdown and is a significant factor in worsening poverty.
